Hot Shot Information
The Hot Shot Program is designed for young swimmers (typically under 7 years old) who want to be part of the swim team, but are unable to swim at a competitive level, who are apprehensive of the pool, or who have difficultly with the swim team routine.
The six-week season begins with practice on Monday, June 15th, and will run through Tuesday, July 27th. The season includes one swim meet during which all the Hot Shots will have an opportunity to swim one "race". The Hot Shot meet takes place before the annual Swim Team pasta feed and team social.
Practices are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 1:00- 1:30 PM.
Hot Shot swimmers must be water safe, be able to comprehend group instruction, and be able to swim at least 5 feet unassisted.
Hot Shot registration takes place beginning on February 1st and continues until the season begins. The registration fee is $325, which includes a team swimsuit.
The Hot Shot program is a stepping stone to swim team. Hot Shot swimmers will be taught kicking, diving, streamlines, breathing, and the four competitive strokes (depending on ability and progression level).
